Steve Speight

Steven’s career in teaching began in a comprehensive school in Bolsover where he taught Music. He moved to Birmingham, then Salts Grammar school where he spent 11 years in several varied roles including working as a Music teacher, Head of Year and the Head of the work related curriculum which encompassed work experience, college placements and careers education. In September 2005 he moved to Hanson as the head of Performing and Creative Arts, to work with Music Art & Drama. Over the intervening 18 years he has been a Head of House, Director of intervention, Learning and Achievement and Director of Initial teacher training.

Steven is now the Head of Music at Hanson and he looks forward to re-establishing Music as a driving force of creativity within the Academy.
