Course Information

This course is ideal for those that want to study the world we live in and how it is ever changing. Throughout the course students will cover a wide range of contemporary themes and issues, so students can understand the world around us and what could impact its future. Geography at A-level is also taken away from the classroom and all students are expected to complete four days of fieldtrips over their two years. Students then use their knowledge to complete an independent investigation focusing on a topic of their choosing.

Geography can enhance a wide range of skills including:

  • Taking control and responsibility of your own learning.
  • Investigating facts and using them to deliver an explanation.
  • Use geographical skills to assist in an investigational enquiry.
  • To use skills outside of a classroom
