Oasis – Wellbeing Yoga

Yoga can provide more energy and brighter moods.

Students from both the Deaf and VI Resourced Provisions were given the opportunity to boost their mental and physical wellbeing by partaking in yoga sessions.  The sessions were organised within our Oasis Provision.  The Oasis provision is led by our Specialist Practitioner Cleo Jones- Williams and focusses on the social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs of the Deaf and Vision Impaired students.      YOGA & WELLBEING It has been a pleasure having Yoga Teacher Debbie visit the Resourced Provision to complete 6 ‘Wellbeing Yoga’ sessions. Debbie was fantastic and built a wonderful relationship with students. Every week, Debbie set the scene with soft lighting, a calm atmosphere and filled the room with a variety of calming essential oils.

Students were able to participate and connect well and share their feelings. Each week the students would learn about self-care and the benefits of light exercise that supports healthy mind sets and mental health. The students were challenged with tricky yoga poses such as the warrior, bridge, and cobra pose. However, they managed to do them all extremely well.
