External Services & Partnerships

In addition to the guidance our post 16 students receive internally, they also have access to wider support via external services and partnerships established by the school. The services are linked to managing low mood and mental health struggles, as well as ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The easy access links to the following services allow our students to feel at ease and reassured they will get the support they need to overcome any barriers during their time in the sixth form.

The Cellar Trust, Shipley

The Cellar Trust is a registered mental health charity supporting young people with their mental health, in the Bradford, Craven and Airedale districts. They work directly with the sixth form cohort to support them with their mental health.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for providing hospital services and safeguarding the people of Bradford and communities across Yorkshire. They work directly with the sixth form cohort and the wider school to support students in the early stages of struggles.

Health Minds, Bradford

Healthy Minds, based in Bradford, are responsible for providing information, tips and services for children and young people who need some support with how they are feeling and thinking. They share information with the school and also offer in-person support sessions for the sixth form cohort.

Step 2, Bradford

Step 2 has a team of fully qualified counsellors who can support young people aged 5-25 years.​​ They work 1-1 with our sixth form students following referrals.

Staying Put, Bradford

Staying Put are a domestic and sexual abuse support service who deliver workshops with the post 16 cohort at Hanson about staying safe in relationships and how to recognise signs of domestic abuse.

Living Well (Schools), Bradford

This service is for children and young people aged 2-19 who are above a healthy weight. They have friendly, trained advisors who will work with parents of children under the age of 13. They work directly with children aged 13 or over, including post 16.

Beep, Bradford

The service is made up of friendly, trained advisors who offer home-based sessions to parents and children. The Living Well advisors help encourage our sixth form cohort to eat well, move well, sleep well and feel mentally well.
