Hanson Deaf Resourced Provision Students – Rowing their Way to Success!

The Deaf Resourced Provision (RP) students, and a special mainstream student guest, have been making waves this term as the students have taken on the exciting challenge of learning how to row.

Every Wednesday, ‘Coach Finn’ has visited the RP and taught the students professional rowing skills.  He has helped the students develop coordination, teamwork, and overall fitness. They have also learned which muscle groups they use whilst rowing and how to strengthen them safely.

With Coach Finn’s extensive experience from the Leeds University Rowing Club and the Leeds Juniors Rowing Team, the students have progressed brilliantly and have enjoyed every session.

The students are looking forward to developing their skills throughout the year – they may even start their own rowing team!

Below is a photograph of some of the students having a quick practise during their break.
