Deaf Pupils from Hanson Academy, Swain House, and Girlington School were recently treated to an inspiring and educational visit from Julie, a highly accomplished Deaf veterinarian. Julie shared the story of her journey becoming a vet, explaining the hard work, determination, and passion that helped her achieve her qualifications.
During the visit, Julie captivated students with real-life experiences from her work, giving a fascinating insight into the daily responsibilities of a veterinarian. She also taught us about responsible pet ownership, the anatomy of different animals, and even demonstrated some of the specialist equipment she uses in her practice.
The session was both informative and engaging, leaving many pupils inspired and thinking more deeply about their own future careers.
