Course Introduction: The OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Sport provides students with an in-depth understanding of the sports industry and prepares them for careers in various sports-related fields. This qualification covers a wide array of topics, including sports coaching, leadership, anatomy and physiology, fitness training, and sports nutrition. With a focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the course includes opportunities for work experience and real-world application. Students will also develop critical transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, which are essential for success in the sports sector. This qualification is designed to meet industry standards and equips students with the competencies needed for both higher education and direct employment in sports and fitness roles.
Over the two-year course learners will study the following:
- Unit 1: Body systems and the effects of physical activity
- Unit 2: Sports coaching and leadership
- Unit 3: Sports organisation and development
- Unit 5: Performance analysis in sport and exercise
- Unit 8: Organisation of sports events
The course will give learners a solid foundation in the sector, enabling them to develop essential skills required for gaining employment, securing career progression, or progressing to further qualifications and training required to achieve their goals.
