Culture Day 2025
Our wonderful 6th Formers showcased a fabulous Culture Day for Year 8 students on Wednesday 19th November as part of Hanson’s Diversity Week. During the day our Year 8’s had the opportunity to visit Africa, Asia and Europe; taking part in a carousel of activities.
In Africa students had the chance to try plantain crisps and take part in an African Dance Class hosted by ACAP.
In Asia students took part in K1 kick-boxing lead by our Year 13 students Emily and Daniel. Emily has achieved various accolades in martial arts and kickboxing; demonstrating her skills and knowledge of the sport. Students then shared fortune cookies and their insightful messages with the group.
In Europe the students learnt about Folk Art with Miss Slater and had the opportunity to make their own folk patterns before sampling European cheeses and Hungarian delicacies. In addition to this we had an ex 6th Form Student, Lydia come in on behalf of the Bradford Ukrainian Society to talk about Ukrainian culture, dancing and community projects with the students.
Thank you to all those involved for a memorable, fun and inspiring day!
