Our Year 9 Students Shine in the The King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge

We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students, who recently took part in the exciting and fast-paced King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge. The event challenged students to design and present a social enterprise – a business idea that not only makes money, but also has a positive impact on the community.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated creativity, teamwork and resilience as they worked in groups to develop their ideas. They explored how their business would operate, how it would generate profit, and most importantly, how it would make a difference.

The main challenge of the day was an Business Simulation Pop-Up Challenge, where teams from each Year 9 form group went head-to-head. Students had to think on their feet, make strategic decisions, and adapt quickly to changing scenarios – all while working collaboratively under pressure.

We are delighted to announce that the champions were Team 9K – The Smooth Smoothies – made up of Haikam, Ben and Ehsan. Their teamwork, innovation and business acumen impressed the judges and set them apart from the competition.

Their success doesn’t stop there. Thanks to their outstanding performance, The Smooth Smoothies have progressed to the Yorkshire and Humber Grand Final. They will now compete against other schools from across the region for the opportunity to win £500 to put towards launching their own business idea.

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of our students. We wish Haikam, Ben and Ehsan the very best of luck in the regional final!

We would also like to give a massive thanks to the Kings Trust and the volunteers that gave up their precious time to make the day a big success.
