Transition Afternoon – Year 10 and 11 Students

Deaf students from the Resourced Provision and local mainstream schools came together for an afternoon on transitioning to Post-16 education and preparation for adulthood. We had discussions on Access to Work, Personal Independence Payments, college transitions and career opportunities for deaf people. This was supported by staff from across the service as well as Bradford College. This session aimed to arm our young people with information on their rights as they develop their independence towards adulthood and making decisions about their future. It was a great opportunity to bring pupils together from across the district to help build a sense of a wider Deaf community outside of their own school settings.
