Merrez Bal

Merrez has been passionate about arts education since leaving school, studying Art and Design at college before going on to achieve his bachelor’s in fine art at Leeds Arts University. Starting as a teaching assistant Merrez quickly progressed to completing his teaching training joining Hanson in 2022. He is excited to continue growing the Art Department and encourage students’ creative talents across KS3, GCSE and Post 16. As well as being the Head of Art he is an avid practioner in the Leeds arts scene, working out of a collective studio where he creates, sells and exhibits his work.
